Jade Massaer, our Rotary Exchange Student from Belgium, is about to end her year with us. She'll join us this week to tell us about her experience. Surprises? Was it what she expected? Favorite food?
She has an ask - there is a competition among the exchange students to see how much "bling" they can attach to their official blazers. If you have extra pins, representing just about anything, please bring them next week so Jade can add them to her blazer. Thanks in advance!
Through the cold and wind on Saturday, our intrepid team of Rotary volunteers completed the assigned mission at McMillan Elementary School. Using special, quick drying, highway paints (arranged by Brandon Bosch at Sherwin Williams) we used a variety of templates to put fresh markings on the kid's playgrounds and basketball hoops. Thanks, Tracy, for organizing a great service project!
Juat a reminder that last fall our Board approved two new membership types to our offerings. Our standard full membership continues to be $375 every six months. We've added a "Young Professionals" category for members 18-40 at a reduced rate of $220. There's also a new Corporate rate of $439 which allows a company to have TWO members. Please join us for a drink, a bite to eat and one more chance to network with the fabulous presenters we've had recently, in a more casual setting. Look for the Rotary sign. Spouses welcome. Highlander 4:30 1110 W. Grove Street.
On Saturday, June 13th, hundreds of volunteers, of all sizes, ages and skills, will gather at the Methodist Church on Maple Grove to frame all the sections for a Habitat for Humanity House! Let's have a Boise Metro Team! We meet at 8 AM and start pounding nails - no power tools allowed! By noon, the teams will have completed all the sections and they'll be loaded on a truck and taken to the home site. This event has been going for about 15 years and all the houses ended up somewhere in the Treasure Valley. Scott Swan, the man of many talents, will be our construction advisor. John Biggs is the team leader. He'll take care of registrations. We need a headcount by June 7th.
Our 4th annual Golf Scramble is set for June 15th at Quail Hollow. This is our major fundraiser of the year! We need golfers to register. A foursome costs $500 which includes greens fees, cart, prizes and two lunches. Go to https://boisemetrorotarygolf.org/
