Our first activity of the new Rotary year will be our First Tuesday service project. Once again, we'll be serving lunches at the same four city parks. We had so much fun last month, we're doing it again!
Last Tuesday we enjoyed a great evening of fellowship, great food, great music and frivolity at the Cottonwood Grill. Shiloh made remarks about all the things our club accomplished in her year and Jeff, after accepting the gavel, laid out some of his ideas for the new year.
The Rotary year begins July 1st. Imagine, all over the world, 33,000 Rotary Clubs are inducting a new President and Board of Directors. How do you run an organization of 1.2 million people when the leadership changes every year? Here are your club officers for the 22-23 year:
Here are excerpts from an e-mail and some pictures I got from our Global Grant Scholar Cheyenne Quilter that I would like to share with the club.
Happy 4th of July weekend to the Rotary Club of Boise Metro! My summer is coming along much faster than I expected as I am prepping my dissertation research alongside an international move- so an exhilarating summer! I hope your summer has been going well!
My dissertation is coming along nicely, I believe. I am in the coding stages, as I did interviews with mental health specialists in the military who worked with military sexual trauma survivors, and so I am coding for barriers and facilitators that the mental health specialties see occurring to survivors during their recovery journey. It is fascinating work that I hope to build upon at the Uniformed Services University and would love to share with the Rotary club!
I also am sharing two pictures from these past months. In April, I was able to show my parents around London, which was wonderful. In June, England celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, and I had the chance to go to the "Trooping of the Colours" with a few of my school friends.
Thank you again for your personal support and the club’s support.
