THIS WEEK - CLUB ASSEMBLY BY ZOOM!
You should still have the link on your device from last week. (Maybe?)  https://zoom.us/j/181256644?status=success
WE ZOOMED!!
Our initial experience with ZOOM for a remote meeting was a success! We had 16 members join in. Our speaker, Caytlyn Marcotte from CITY GO was able to show slide and a video. The audio cut out  occasionally but that was a very minor irritation. We'll have to learn that only one person can speak at a time. But its cool that you can see everybody (including pets!).

If you missed the meeting, you can watch the recording here.
TAKE THE BUS!
Our speaker this week, Kaytlyn Morrotte from CITY GO, told us about the efforts to encourage us not to drive downtown. They estimate that by 2040 there will be 20,000 MORE people working downtown. Yikes! A recent study shows that 80% of the cars coming into downtown every morning are only one person. That has to change. She talked about transportation discounts, parking fee ideas, park and ride and many more options. Check it out here.
FISHING DERBY POSTPONED
No surprise that our Fishing Derby scheduled for April had to be postponed. We'll try to set that up for later in the summer.
WE STILL NEED TO SELL DISTRICT RAFFLE TICKETS!
DISTRICT RAFFLE.  The District Raffle will go forward as normal.  The raffle is a very important fundraiser for our district.  Raffle proceeds help provide funds to support Youth Exchange, Paul Harris, and Club Projects. Each club will send out instructions on how they will distribute and collect tickets.  We will draw the winning raffle tickets on May 15, 2020 at the REMOTE LUAU event.  Clubs can distribute raffle tickets via USPS mail. You can sell and return the tickets by mail before May 10, 2020.  Consider having your club’s raffle coordinator simply fill out the tickets for you on your behalf, send the stubs to you, and bill you for the tickets. Thank you for your support of our annual District Raffle.

(Note: Michela is setting up an online system for the ticket sales. More info to follow!)
ODDS 'N ENDS
Most of us were in on video; Schubinator was driving and Roger was just listening........Jeff's parents are like so many of our elderly friends who are locked down tight in their senior facilities.......Dave had an American Flag on his desk for our pledge.....a Rotary flag, too............sorry, no song this week...........Noa has gone back to Japan....she was the ONLY passenger on her flight to Frisco......"Mar" will be arriving from Spain in late August....she'll e a senior at BHS and her first host family is all lined up...........I really appreciated learning about ZOOM last week...never used it before....I have set up a family ZOOM meeting for next week with family from all the country and Europe! In this crazy time, family is more important than ever!
