THIS WEEK - FIELD TRIP!
We are NOT meeting at the Stonehouse this week - rather, we are going on another field trip, this time to  the Marian Pritchett School at 1617 N. 24th St, Boise. We'll hear about a program that Giraffe Laugh is doing at the school, which has been serving pregnant teens since 1964. Our host will be Executive Director Lori Fascilla. Meet in the parking lot at noon. http://marianpritchett.boiseschools.org/
GREENBELT PROJECT ON HOLD - AGAIN
You may recall that a couple of months ago we proposed to break the project into two phases: (1) move the DAR monument (2) build the rest. That plan had been enthusiastically received! Now, however, the folks at Park and Rec and Engineering have decided they don't like that plan after all. Their main concern is that the monument, if located at the site all alone, might be subject to vandalism. (The subject of vandalism has come up several times since we started). So, now the City will bid the entire project this winter, in hopes that the price will be more favorable. This project has taught us a valuable lesson - patience!
THANKS FOR THE TOUR, BRIAN!
Many thanks to Brian McCoy for arranging our tour of the A-10 in the hangar at Gowen field last week.  We were introduced to the storied history of this venerable airplane. Its hard to believe they are 40 years old and still an important tool in the arsenal. And no other country in the world has them! And, we had perfect weather for a tailgate lunch!

ODDS 'N ENDS
Another field trip next week - behind the scenes at the Boise Airport (you'll see miles of conveyors moving baggage!).....more details to follow......one of the problems with these field trips is that we don't get to sing.....we really enjoy the box lunches that Stonehouse prepares for us!............Happy Halloween!
